Identity Pixel
Identity Pixel: install it, check it and follow up with visitors
The Identity Pixel identifies real people visiting your website (name, email, job title, company and LinkedIn where available). How to install and verify the snippet, read the visitor dashboard, export visitors as CSV, auto-sync them into a prospect list and send to them, plus the privacy notice you need.
What the Identity Pixel does
The Identity Pixel is a small script you add to your website. When someone visits, our data provider tries to resolve the visit to a real person, and the people it identifies appear in a dashboard in Prospects, Identity Pixel, at /prospects/pixel: name, email, job title, company, LinkedIn profile and more, when the data has them, plus the pages they saw and when.
Only visitors the provider can identify appear. Many visits cannot be matched, so the dashboard shows some of your traffic, not all of it, and we do not promise a match rate.
Every paid plan includes 1 Identity Pixel. Each additional pixel is $49.95 a month. Identity Pixel pricing and extra pixels
Before you install: update your privacy notice
You are responsible for telling your visitors that your site uses a tracking pixel to identify them, and for any consent your local law requires. Add it to your privacy notice and, if you use one, your cookie banner before you install the snippet.
Install the pixel
- Open Prospects, Identity Pixel and choose Add site.
- Enter your website address, for example
example.com. Each site gets its own pixel, dashboard and auto-sync list. - Copy the install snippet. It is one line:
<script async src="…"></script>. - Paste it before the closing
</head>tag on every page of the site. Most site builders have a "custom code in head" setting for this.
Check the install
Press Check install on the dashboard. It tells you when the first visit has reached us. If nothing has arrived yet, check that the snippet is on every page, publish the site, visit it yourself, and give it a few hours. The site's status changes from Waiting for first visitor to Receiving data.
New visitors are synced every 15 minutes. The dashboard shows when the last sync ran and, if one failed, what went wrong.
Read the dashboard
For the site you pick in the site switcher (or all sites together), the dashboard shows:
- Identified, 7 days and Identified, 30 days, with the change from the previous 7 days.
- Contactable: identified people with an email address.
- Repeat visitors and the best window, the day and hour your identified visitors are most active.
- Identified visitors per day over the last 30 days.
- Top pages: where identified visitors actually go, by people and by views.
- Hot visitors: people active in more than one session in the last 72 hours.
- High-value visitors: senior titles, or a known company revenue, with contact details.
- Companies with several people: two or more visitors from one company, often a buying committee.
Below it, the visitor table lists everyone identified. Search by name, email, company or title, filter to people with an email, high-value or repeat visitors, and open a person to see their profile: every field we resolved and the pages they saw.
Add visitors to a list and send
- One or a few people: select them (only visitors with an email can be selected) and choose Add to list, a new or existing list.
- Everyone, automatically: turn on Auto-sync to a list and choose or create the destination list. Existing visitors are added straight away, then new ones every 15 minutes.
Suppressed and removed people are skipped, and contacts already in your CRM are never overwritten. Then open the list and choose Add to campaign, as with any prospect list. Add prospects to lists and campaigns
Turning auto-sync off pauses it; the list keeps what it has.
Export visitors
Choose Export CSV above the visitor table to download every identified visitor of the site as a CSV, up to 200,000 people per file. Exports need a paid plan.
Change the domain or remove a site
- Change domain creates a new pixel for the new address. Identity data belongs to the domain, so the old pixel and its visitors are deleted and you get a new snippet to install. People already added to your lists stay there.
- Remove site stops tracking, deletes the pixel and the visitors it identified, and lowers your bill from the next renewal if it was a paid extra pixel. People already added to your lists stay there.
If your subscription lapses or the workspace is closed, collection stops for every site. Visitors collected before then are kept.
FAQs
Why do I see fewer visitors than my analytics tool?
The pixel only shows people the data provider could identify. Anonymous visits, bots and people it cannot match never appear.
Does the pixel slow down my site?
The snippet loads asynchronously (async), so it does not block your page from rendering.
Is there an ad-platform sync?
No. Visitors go to prospect lists, CSV exports and campaigns.
