Tasks in the CRM
How to add, complete and delete follow-up tasks in EmailPal's CRM, attach them to a lead, and find overdue ones on the Tasks page and the CRM home.
What tasks are for
A task is a reminder to do something, such as "Send the proposal to Dana". Use tasks to keep follow-ups from slipping once a reply turns into a conversation.
Add a task
There are two places.
- Tasks page. Open CRM, then Tasks. Type the task under Add a task, optionally set a Due date and time, and choose Add task or press Enter.
- A lead. Open a lead in CRM, Leads. In its Tasks section, type a task, set a Due date if you like, and choose Add task. A task added this way is linked to the lead, so it shows the lead's name on the Tasks page and opens the lead when you click it.
A due date is optional. A task without one shows No date.
Work through them
The Tasks page has three tabs:
| Tab | Shows |
|---|---|
| Open | Tasks that are not done. |
| Overdue | Tasks that are not done and are past their due time. |
| Done | Finished tasks. |
- Tick the checkbox to mark a task done. Untick it in the Done tab to reopen it.
- A task past its due time shows a red badge with how long ago it was due.
- Use the bin to delete a task.
On the CRM home
The Home tab shows Tasks overdue, with how many are coming up, and Tasks done 7 days. A Tasks due panel lists what is next, next to Recent positive replies and Pipeline by stage. CRM reports
